Garrett moved for fully into the classic soul camp on his subsequent projects, and he remains there on his new single, “You Give Me Life.” The tune finds Garrett expressing gratitude to a woman who adds spark to his life and giving a breakdown of all the ways that she has changed his life for the better.
This song serves as a reminder that a man will never be at a loss for the right words when a woman arouses those feelings of true love. “You Give Me Life” is a smooth, mid-tempo jam that wades deep into the classic soul sound from the organ riff that opens the tune to the bluesy guitar riffs and the tight backing vocals.
