(August 27, 2024) In music, love and dance seem to go hand in hand. Throughout the years, many songs have been recorded about two people falling in love while on the dance floor. A new track touching on this same theme is “Catch this Groove” by Alex Fanjul and Chavonna Adams.
Alex is a guitarist, composer, and producer who has created numerous Neo soul, Funk and House Music tracks. Chavonna Adams, who’s called the Queen of Southern Soul, is known for her powerful voice and conveying deep emotions through her music. She wrote lyrics to this bouncy yet mellow, dance track that takes you back to the days when dance music ruled the charts. In the song, Chavonna narrates a story about “two lovers lost in rhythm” who aim to “dance the night away.”
One could describe “Catch this Groove” as a modern-day example of “dazz” – disco jazz, that is. You hear the disco groove in Alex’s guitar, reminiscent of Nile Rodgers (Chic), while the tones of the saxophone provide the smooth jazz feel.
This blend of genres to create fresh sounds is something that Alex Fanjul is known for among his loyal fans.
