There were few more entertaining groups in the 1970s than The Spinners. Hailing from Detroit, the group, then consisting of Henry Fambrough, Billy Henderson, Bobby Smith, Pervis Jackson and Philippe Wynne, put out a series of classic albums and a decade’s worth of hits that still resonate four decades later. And their concerts were legendary for their fun and sonic excellence.

Back in 1976, The Spinners recorded a one hour Soundstage concert special, including interviews, for Chicago’s PBS affiliate, WTTW. It showed a group that was at its mighty career peak, with all the big hits included.
