(June 2, 2025) “More Time,” the new song by Smoke Jones, is a reminder of the importance of cherishing each moment we spend with those we love. Jones sings from the standpoint of someone who has lost a family member or good friend. He grieves that loss even as he looks back on the good times that they shared. Jones finds himself craving the one thing that he knows he cannot have – more time. That is where the song’s title comes from.
Jones talks about what inspired him to write “More Time:” “I wanted to create a song that reminds people to cherish the time they have with the ones they love.” Though “More Time” has a profound message, the arrangement has a steppers feel, with a jazzy swing on the piano and guitar.
That instrumentation is something that Jones wanted to note as well. “Detroit has always had a special energy when it comes to music and having some of the city’s best talent involved in this track makes ‘More Time’ even more meaningful.”
