Heidi Tann is a singer who is difficult to box in. Her music touches R&B, jazz, bossa nova and pop. And she has performed it all over the world, from her childhood in the Philippines to extensive travel performing for audiences everywhere.
“My cultural heritage and my experience make me different. Even when I sing these songs in my chosen genre, my FilAm roots are palpable in my delivery and the feel and tone of my songs. The sum total of my experience enables me to bring depth to the songs I perform.”
Heidi brings all those influences to her brand new single, on which she teams with the legendary Kinsman Dazz Band. “Island Summer” is a number that hits all the right spots for both adult soul and smooth jazz fans, with Heidi’s warm vocals shining in front of the on point band and Matt Horwich’s expressive saxophone.
The Fall weather outside may be cooling here in Detroit, but “Island Summer” is like a warm evening breeze transporting us to the ocean one last time for the year. Check out Heidi Tann’s new one below. It is our latest SoulTracks Choice Cut.
