Saxman supreme Gary Palmer has lived a few lives, and has somehow made them all work together. A few years after wrapping up a lengthy and successful career in law enforcement (he was Chief of Police from the Lauderhill, FL Police Department), Gary returned to his early passion of playing the saxophone and achieved a lifelong dream with the release of his 2015 debut album, Love Me Again, featuring the hit, “Stay With Me.” He followed it in 2017 with Coast 2 Coast, another excellent disc with an star supporting crew.
Gary has continued to expand his territory in the years since that release, and now he is back with a new song that will delight both R&B and contemporary jazz fans. “Let’s Ride” is just the tonic for these cold winter days – it’s the kind of bright, put-down-your-roof uptempo jam that we’ll be blasting full volume driving down Woodward Avenue in Detroit.
Co-written by Gary and producer Adam Hawley, “Let’s Ride” (on the Jerningham Entertainment Group label) is making us feel that warm summer sun in our minds as we groove around the room here. We think SoulTrackers are going to dig it too.
