Calvin Richardson has been a soul music favorite for a decade now and is a past SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award winner for Best Male Vocalist. So you know we like to follow what he’s up to. Last year Calvin signed with the new Primary Wave label and he recently issued the hit album, I Am Calvin. The disc has already spawned two hits, and continues to grow in popularity.

In more good news, Calvin’s haunting ballad, “Before This Moment Leaves,” was recently featured in the VH1 series, Love and Hip-Hop NY. It is another great cut from the album that is getting some much deserved love. Calvin tells us about the song, “’Before This Moment Leaves’ is a plead for emotional direction when you find yourself lost and at the brink of despair and literally don’t know which way to go. Just a word form the one you love the most can be the difference.”
