Celebrating Keith Sweat’s Birthday – The King of New Jack Swing

keith_sweat

Happy birthday to R&B superstar Keith Sweat, born July 22, 1961. The Harlem-born singer rose to fame in 1987 as part of the emergence of New Jack Swing with the smash single and album Make It Last Forever.

That began a more than three decade career that has had an awful lot of highs. 1991’s Keep It Comin’ climbed the charts with the lead single “I’ll Give All My Love to You,” and Sweat reached even higher three years later with Get Up on It and its charttopping ballad “Nobody.”

Since 2000, Keith Sweat has continued to be a force in the music industry, both through his recordings as well as his syndicated radio show “The Keith Sweat Hotel.” He also served as a judge on the reality dating show “Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School.”

Happy birthday, Keith!
