L.A. based singer Wendisue comes by her talent and her love of music honestly: her father is former Tower of Power member Ellis Hall. And her debut EP Homegrown is an enjoyable combination of bluesy soul and interesting percussive arrangements, from the dramatic "The Sickness" to the reggae-influenced "Suffer the Loss" and "Maybe." It’s a solid debut by an impressive young singer and is worth checking out. I’m looking forward to hearing more from her.
