The Groove Association Ft. Georgie B

Official Biography (courtesy of George B)

Georgie B (AKA George Bromfield) has been singing, entertaining, writing and producing within the music industry for the past 33 years, starting with popular 80’s soul/jazz funk band Second Image and more recently as a solo artist.

After leaving Second Image in the late 80’s, Georgie B continued to tirelessly sing and work within the music industry with artists such as Womack & Womack (as a part of their live band), Jeane Carn (also as a part of her live band & music compare), Reel 2 Reel (part of the band on Channel 4’s The Word), Shut up & Dance (co-writing & singing various tracks on their ‘Black Men United’ album). Plus many session gigs/performances around the world.

Georgie B has also had the good fortune to support and work with such established artists as MAZE (featuring Frankie Beverly), The Jam (featuring Paul Weller) Rod Temperton (writer of classics such as Mind Blowing Decisions, Always & Forever, Thriller & Off the Wall), Level 42, David Grant (from 80’s band Lynx), The Weather Girls, Janet Kay, Winston Reedy, Carroll Thompson and many many more.

In April 2011, he was also asked to sing (with Second Image) again at the 02 Theatre, London, England as part of the 30 YEAR CELEBRATION OF BRIT FUNK, along side great British soul/jazz funk acts such as Incognito, Imagination, Beggar & Co, Junior Giscombe, David Joseph and Central Line.

As an accomplished singer/songwriter and producer and with the resurgence of the whole Brit ‘Jazz Funk’ scene, Georgie B felt the time was right to go solo. In 2011 he set up his own production company THE GROOVE ASSOCIATION and ‘LET’S BREAK THE ICE‘ was his first release. This was followed soon after by his second single release ‘OLD SKOOL MAGIC’. Which brings you back to the days of the 80’s soul all dayer’s, roller skating, skate boarding (1st time around!!) and Chopper bicycles.

After completing the filming of the video’s for both singles Georgie B worked tirelessly on finishing his debut album which was released April 2012 entitled ‘LET’S BREAK THE ICE’. This critically acclaimed alum hit number 5 in the UK Soul Charts and paved the way for two more single releases, ‘Something’s Changed’ and ‘Thinking About Your Love’ (a cover of the Skipworth & Turner classic). Both singles hit top 5 in the UK Soul Chart and are featured on the brand new Groove Association album ‘3AM’.

‘3AM’ was released March 2014 and features 15 new tracks of jazz funk heaven! Produced by ex-Second Image singer/drummer Weston Foster, It is the best Georgie B work to date!!
