Robert Harper is a professional bassist who is currently busy as a session musician, recording artist, music instructor and product marketer.
He is known for his funky infectious grooves which he lends to various Indie-Artists throughout the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia,) area.
He studied electric bass guitar and upright double bass at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California with Oskar Cartaya, Bob Magnusson, Jeff Berlin, Tim Bogart, guest instructors Louis Johnson, Nathan East, and privately with jazz/fusion bassist Bunny Brunel & jazz guitarist Frank Potenza.
Television & Radio appearances have included “In The House” (Downey Cable Network) and KPCC radio in Pasadena, California. He has played with Louis Johnson (The Brothers Johnson), Robert Wilson (The GapBand), and R&B crooners (The California Executives) amongst others.
He’s also shared the stage with former Disney Mouseketeer, Actress, and Christian soul vocal artist Raquel Herring. Presently Robert is the Bassist for the exciting Hip/Hop Rock Fusion Band “Area 301” out of Maryland.
