Greg Borowsky (aka Greg Dean) describes his passion for music as a “lifelong journey of love, passion & good music “. Known to many in the music industry as GB Collective, he is the creative producer and writer behind some of South Africa’s biggest musical sensations. Having worked with some of South Africa’s biggest artists, Greg boasts an impressive list of production and song-writing work over the past 7 years. His signature collaborations showcase an experienced ear and a depth of talent that has seen him produce for recognised artists such as Siphokazi, Khaya Mthethwa, Kelly Khumalo, Brian Temba, Prime Circle, Kabomo, Nothende and many more, as well as being given the honour of co-writing and producing the official Freedom Day 20 Year Anniversary song AN IDEAL, for the South African Department of Arts and Culture, featuring 20 top SA artists, including Abigail Kubeka, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Lira, The Parlotones, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Claire Johnston, Siphokazi, Judith Sephuma, Kurt Darren, AKA, IHashi Elimhlopi and more…
Greg has also written and produced for major corporations in SA, including writing and producing Transnet’s LOERIE NOMINATED nationwide corporate anthem MASIHAMBE, Toyota’s Cheetah Rugby team anthem for 2015 GETS MY PULSE RACING, as well as Telkom’s IDOLS 2014 Campaign anthem NEVER MISS A BEAT, amongst many others.
As an artist called GB Collective, Greg is signed to Universal Music and his 2014 Metro Fm Best RnB Award nominated album Collective Conscience features top SA acts such as Kabomo, Nothende, Brian Temba, Reason, Clint Brink and many more. His latest single Chocolate Vanilla ft Brian Temba and Reason was nominated for a Channel O Award in 2014 in the category of Best RnB. He has consistently released songs that have seen him become a regular feature on the country’s top stations, including singles Sunlight featuring Kabomo (playing across all urban stations nationally) and That Would be All featuring Chad Saaiman (#1 on Heart FM SA Top 10), Anything, a track featuring Wafeeq, which debuted on the MetroFM Top 40 Chart and remained for 6 weeks, while also doing the same at Good Hope FM SA Top 10 chart. Thinking about You featuring Mabongi Mabaso also saw him gain recognition as it shot to #2 in Heart FM’s Top 10 Chart in 2011.
Greg is signed as a songwriter to Sony ATV globally and is currently working on his next album in New York, featuring soul artists such as Eric Roberson, Carol Riddick, Chantae Cann, Jarrod Lawson, Aaron Marcellus, Mykal Kilgore and more.
Greg is also in the process of completing the writing of a stage musical, in collaboration with his brother Shaun as well as the Mandela Family together with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, provisionally titled MANDELA – THE MUSICAL.
