Of the world’s artistically courageous divas, next in line is Carolyn Malachi. Malachi’s bold, creative style is evident in her self-financed, self-released EP, ‘Lions, Fires & Squares". With recent media comparisons to avant-garde Soul/R&B artists Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and Janelle Monae, Carolyn Malachi is quickly becoming a popular brand in Soul music, both domestically and abroad.
With her unique genre-bending blend of Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, and Spoken Word, Carolyn Malachi attracts new fans every day. Malachi released her latest EP, ‘Lions, Fires, and Squares,’ with new songs about relationships, love, and strength. The music from ‘Lions, Fires, and Squares’ is influenced by her recent tour in South Africa with artist and activist Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP). Malachi’s 2008 debut project, ‘Revenge of the Smart Chicks,’ is a rally call to empower women in the arts. Her second album ‘Revenge of the Smart Chick II: Ambitious Gods’ earned her honors and accolades. Malachi founded the Smart Chicks, Inc. organization and its ever-growing, Smart Chicks Network brand, to develop visibility and leadership opportunities for women in the arts. The large membership actively promotes her artistry and philanthropy.
