Bridgjette Taylor

Independent Gospel singer Bridgjette Taylor released her self-titled debut album.  She and producer Guardian have put together a decidedly modern R&B variation on Gospel music. The self titled disc is largely thematic, telling the story of an ambitious artist refusing to give up on her dreams despite bad breaks and bad friends – told in part through a somewhat corny 8-part story interspersed between the songs.  The music portion of the disc is much more enjoyable, especially the modern take on the traditional "Love Lifted Me" and the album’s hottest cut, "Hey Child," which sounds like it could have been culled from a Brandy album.  Taylor also displays her formidable pipes on the ballad "Rejoice."  This is a decent vehicle for a young singer with a fine voice.
