Though his time in the spotlight came and went quickly, Brooklyn born singer/songwriter Lillo Thomas made an impression in the mid-80s with a series of smash R&B hits.

A track star as a teenager, Thomas was nearly an Olympian before being sidelined by an injury.  But his other love, music, became his focus in the mid-80s, as he became a sought-after songwriter, penning hits for Melba Moore and Freddie Jackson.  He also signed with Capitol Records, for which he landed the top 10 hits “I’m In Love,” “Sexy Girl” and “Wanna Make Love.”  Surprisingly, his recording career came to a quick halt during a period when he was still a hot seller.

Thomas continued to write for others, but was out of the spotlight by the end of the decade. He has continued to perform, and issued the single “Drinkin” in 2019
