A Soundcheck interview with the classic R&B band, Switch

(December 3, 2016) Switch, the classic rhythm and blues band, who performed hits such as, “I Wanna Be With You,” “There’ll Never Be,” “I Wanna Be Closer,” and many others, spent their 40th anniversary performing at the Fame City Old School concert hosted at the Canton Palace Theatre in Canton, Ohio. The Fame City Old School Concert, benefiting the Legends Cultural Center in Canton, OH, also featured Zapp, Glenn Jones, Lakeside, and Shirley Murdock.

The original members of Switch included; Greg Williams, Jody Sims, Tommy and Bobby Debarge, Phillip Ingram (brother of James Ingram), Eddie Fluellen, and Michael McGloiry. Switch was formed in Akron, Ohio, the home of band members, Phillip Ingram, Eddie Fluellen, and noted musicians Howard Hewett and James Ingram. 

Switch took time out before concert soundcheck to provide their history, Ohio influences, and their perspective of ‘classic’ when it comes to R&B music.
