(July 17, 2025) Annika Chambers and Paul DesLauriers had successful careers as blues artists before making a professional and personal connection in 2019. Chambers and DesLauries were award winning blues artists who released highly regarded albums – Chambers as a solo artist and DesLauriers as the leader of the Black Cat Bone and Paul DesLauriers Band.
Their paths crossed in 2018 while attending a music conference in Memphis. The two did not meet, although they saw each other long enough to spark a simmering interest. “We immediately locked eyes,” Chambers recalled. They met a year later, fell in love, married and have been making beautiful music together ever since. The band Chambers DesLauriers debuted with a bang in 2022 when their first album, Good Trouble, earned a Blues Blast award for Soul Blues Album of the Year.
Their latest album Our Time To Ride is soon to be released, but we are premiering “Sing,” a single from that album as a First Listen. “Sing” gives listeners a glimpse into this band’s unique sound. “Sing” is an anthem where Chambers uses her gospel music training to elevate lyrics that give voice to those who have been silenced.
The song is a rollicking and joyful fusion of blues, soul and rock. DesLauriers’ slashing guitar solos also gives the tune an element of jazz infused rock. Check out the World Premiere of the inspirational jam “Sing” here.
