(July 7, 2025) Some people are born to sing, and Miracle Thomas is one such person. Thomas said that she started singing before she began talking. That God-given gift as a vocalist is augmented by her prowess as a songwriter. Thomas has penned more than 800 songs, writing her first song at the age of 12.
A supportive mother and protective father nurtured those gifts while also making sure that Thomas was aware of the traps that ever present in an industry that is known for its viciousness. Thomas’s gifts propelled her. She became the first unsigned artist featured on Video Soul, meaning that she captured the ears of the legendary Donnie Simpson. Thomas worked constantly, writing songs in a variety of genres, working with groups likes Wreck-N-Effect and opening for a who’s who of musical legends.
Thomas stepped away from the business to raise her son, and it is that young man who encouraged his mother resume her career. That career continues with her new release, the soulful mid-tempo song “Soul 2 Soul.”
“Soul 2 Soul” finds Thomas stepping boldly into that old school romantic vibe. Thomas sings about the pure joy of realizing that she has found someone that she connects with on a spiritual level. The song has a bit of a laid-back bluesy feel with guitar riffs riding smooth and funky foundation set out by the bass as the vibraphone player injects a touch of jazz.
Thomas, who also did all the backing vocals, engages in a call and response with the horn section. “Soul 2 Soul” is the ideal song for those planning a party of two on a warm summer night. Check it out here.
