Below is the list of nominees that have been submitted to our nominations committee of approximately 2,000 artists, promoters, writers, record company executives and others involved in the soul music industry. Between now and August 5, 2008, they will choose the top 5 independent artists and records of the year in each category and those artists and records will be the finalists for this year’s SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards. Our general readership will vote for the winner during the second week of August, 2008.
