(October 27, 2015) The duo of Frank Benbini and Naim Cortazzi – also known as the band Uncle Frank – evoke classic funk sounds in their modern R&B/pop music. With drummer Darryl JnR Benbini along, the act released its debut album in 2014 and became favorites on radio and television around the UK.
We just discovered Uncle Frank recently, hearing their upcoming single, “Maximum Respect,” due on November 13. The group describes the song as “about trying to do the right thing despite the fact that you constantly find yourself doing the wrong thing. But at the same time, you try to please everyone and give them Maximum Respect!”
The song has a strong 80s funk underpinning and a great beat that is tough to resist. So we’re very glad to be presenting the World Premiere First Listen of this song, introducing it to SoulTrackers and others. Check it out below and tell us what you think of Uncle Frank!
