World Premiere Video: The Soul Motivators are “Mindblastin'”

soulmotivators

(March 29, 2019) The Soul Motivators could not have selected a more appropriate name. The band is pure energy of the type that people who grew up in the 1970s took for granted. This is an old school band that possesses a fat horn section, a keyboardist who can take you from the church house to the road house on that Hammond organ, a kicking on-the-one drummer and bassist and a guitarist who can rock with the best of them. This band simply possesses all every single funky element to bring some much-needed heat to those cold days and nights of their home base in Toronto.

The band’s core musicians consists of James Robinson (keys), Marc Shapiro (bass), Voltaire Ramos (guitar), Doug Melville (Drums), and Derek Thorne (percussion).

Then there is Shahi Teruko. This Canadian possesses a power packed vocal instrument and is pure energy on stage, as is displayed in this video of the Soul Motivators’ live performance of their latest cut, “Mindblastin,’” from their upcoming self-titled EP. Fans searching for a soul sister who can get on stage and bring the noise and the funk in the aftermath of the passing of Sharon Jones can stop looking. Shahi Teruko is the answer to the question of who’s next. Don’t believe me? Judge for yourself.
