(July 20, 2024) The Summer Soul Affair Outdoor Music Festival marked a triumphant debut in Waxahachie, TX, drawing over 2000+ attendees for its first-ever outdoor soul festival at the picturesque Railyard Park. Created and curated by K.Avett Music Group LLC and partnering with the City of Waxahachie, this enchanting evening under the stars delighted guests with a lineup of great performances and lively music all evening long!
Starting promptly at 7:00 PM, the festivities kicked off with soulful music by DJ K9 and positive vibes carried out by MC Kevin Kennerson. Soul aficionados were then treated to the smooth R&B stylings of Paul Cannon, whose commanding stage presence captivated the audience.
Event goers and attendees were able witness the return of K.Avett, as she continues to make an amazing comeback, from her role as a Registered Travel Nurse during the pandemic to deliver a dynamic soulful performance that gained her new fans from far and wide. Joined by talented musicians like Jeremy Cannon, Mike Pugh, Christopher Green, along with Jordache V. Grant, currently touring with Abraham Alexander, the event provided non-stop entertainment.
Attendees danced, swayed, and enjoyed the festive atmosphere amidst food and merchandise vendors offering delightful treats and souvenirs. The event, a celebration of soulful melodies and community spirit, set the stage for an even grander affair next year, promising expanded sound production and a larger crowd.
In her online event follow-up, K.Avett along with husband Kevin Franklin of KMG Photos expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to all attendees and supporters. They said it exceeded their expectations by leaps and bounds and they can’t wait to do it again in 2025
