They are two favorite artists of SoulTrackers, and we always want to hear more from them. Both Anthony David and Algebra Blessett are past SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards winners, and her debut album, Purpose, remains one of the most popular albums ever with our readers.
They were already accomplished artists separately, but when they combined to record “4 Evermore,” the two ATL singers created an all-time wedding classic that shot to the top of the charts. It’s tough to believe it has been 10 years since they graced us with that duet, but the good news is that they’ve come back together with a new recording that will be sure to get their fans smiling.
“Heaven” was a top ten hit for BeBe and CeCe Winans and, as Algebra says, a “feel good classic we grew up on.” So Anthony and Algebra decided that a cover of “Heaven” would be the right vehicle for a musical reunion in 2022. They stripped down the original arrangement to a more acoustic sound fronted by AD’s guitar, and deliver a sensitive reading that accentuates the meaningful lyrics.
It was great to hear these two favorites singing together again. And we’re proud to make “Heaven” our newest SoulTracks Sunday Gem
