(July 30, 2014) Weldon Sawyer, the father of Vernon and Wendell Sawyer of the legendary soul group, Blue Magic, has died at 102. Wendell Sawyer posted the following on his Facebook page:
I just recieved word from my sister that my Father has passed away today at 2:14 PM he was 102 years old. In this picture is myself my Father my Mother and my brother Vernon. When I got the news of his passing it hurt but then I thought he is OK now, no more pain and suffering and he haven’t left me because I have him in my heart,…..
