The Manhattans release first new album in nearly two decades

themanhattans2021

(January 29, 2021) The Manhattans, among of the great soul vocal groups of the past half century, returned today with their first all new album in nearly two decades. Gerald Alston, Troy May, and David Tyson have been touring together since a 1993 group reunion (with group co-founder Blue Lovett, until his 2014 death), but their only studio album in all of those years was the excellent 2002 release Even Now (later rebadged as Men Cry Too).

Now the trio returns with a disc on their Love Song Touring label that features a grab bag of new studio songs, some unsung gems and live recordings of their signature songs “Kiss and Say Goodbye” and “Shining Star.” Notably The Legacy Continues includes their 2019 hit single, “Get It Ready,” and well as Alston’s hard to find, beautiful 1990 collaboration with Stanley Clarke and George Duke, “Right By Your Side.”

Here is the track listing:

Love Ride
What About You
Get It Ready
Forever By Your Side
Right By My Side
Shining Star (Live)
Kiss and Say Goodbye (Live)
Get It Ready (Remix)
Anything Goes
She’s Comin’ Home

We know SoulTrackers are excited to hear this one, which was a long time coming. Check it out below!
