(April 4, 2021) Ron Isley is a living legend whose career has stood the test of time, both as a member of the Isley Brothers and as a solo artist. And most recently, his participation in the incredible “Versuz” episode with Earth Wind & Fire reminded the music world of just how much he has accomplished in his career.
For the last three decades, Ron has also been a favorite guest of many in the R&B and hip-hop community who grew up on the fiery funk songs and lilting bedroom ballads of the Isleys.
Now comes word from Ron’s Instagram account that the 79 year old star is in the studio working with Dr. Dre. It isn’t clear whether the collaboration is for a future Isley solo album or whether Ron is guesting on a Dre collection. We’ll keep SoulTrackers posted as we learn more.
