Phil Perry hospitalized in D.C.

(March 23, 2013) Hey SoulTrackers, please say a quick prayer for one of our favorite artists, the great Phil Perry, who is in the hospital tonight. Phil just released his newest album on Shanachie Records, Say Yes, and was touring in support of the album when he had a not-so-good experience last night in DC.  Here is the account from Phil’s wife, Lillian:

To describe Phil Perry’s show at the Birchmere last night as electrifying, would be an understatement. Over 40,000 volts of electricity were set off through his chest during his show, via his defribulator which went off over 20 times. His amazing performance continued until he couldn’t take it any longer, about 10 minutes short of his finale. He is resting well in Virginia, and after he’s checked out he will return to California. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. Email Phil Perry your well wishes at [email protected]. (Lillian Perry)

Lill, we sure will be thinking of Phil and hoping for a quick recovery!

March 26 Update – New information on Phil’s recovery from his Facebook page:

“Please Share – PHIL PERRY DID NOT SUFFER A HEART ATTACK! The situation was caused by BETA interference within the venue’s wireless system, which caused his difibulator to go off 39 times during his 50 minute performance….Phil has a clean bill of health, and can’t wait to get home to California.”
