World As We Know It Ends: New Edition and New Kids record together

In a "why can’t we all just get along?" story, 80s teen groups New Edition and New Kids on the Block have teamed up for a song that will appear on the upcoming NKOTB album.  Access Hollywood reports that New Edition members Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill and Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe appear with the New Kids on the song "Full Service," which was co-written by Kids member Donnie Wahlberg (brother of actor and former rapper Mark Wahlberg).

Music fans remember that the New Kids were formed in the mid-80s by R&B producer Maurice Starr (usually referred to back then as "R&B svengali Maurice Starr") after his messy falling out with New Edition, which he produced to stardom a few years earlier.  Starr’s stated goal was for the Kids to surpass New Edition, thus creating the perception of a rivalry between the groups. We guess you can kind of get over that stuff as you approach 40.

Meanwhile, Starr is still trying to recapture the teen band magic, most recently working with a group called the Heartbeat Boys.
