New Edition brings down the house in RRHOF tribute to The Spinners

(November 5, 2023) This week’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was a night to remember for fans of rock, soul, and the blues. This year’s RRHOF class included a bevy of heavyweights, including hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest and Missy Elliot, pop stars George Michael, Sheryl Crow and Cindy Lauper, country titan Willie Nelson, as well as Kate Bush, Iron Maiden, Joy Divison/New Order, Rage Against the Machine, The White Stripes and Warren Zevon. But the inductees that meant the most to soul music fans around the world were the legendary act The Spinners. And one performance at the ceremony has been the talk of SoulTrackers around the world.

What we didn’t know in advance was that legendary quintet would be honored by an iconic group of the next generation. New Edition performed New Edition performed a three-song tribute to The Spinners in the form of a medley of hits, including “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love,” and “The Rubberband Man.” The vocal performances and those dance moves were exquisite.

If you haven’t seen the tribute performance, check it out below. It will make you smile as much as it did for us.
