(September 4, 2019) We are very sad to inform SoulTrackers of the death of Grammy winning songwriter Lashawn “BigShiz” Daniels, from injuries sustained in an auto accident in South Carolina. He was 41.

Daniels, a frequent collaborator with legendary songwriter/producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, played a role in many of the biggest hits of the past two decades. His hit compositions included “The Boy Is Mine” by Brandy and Monica, “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child, Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough,” Michael Jackson’s “You Rock My World,” Tamar Braxton’s “Love and War” and literally dozens of other big hits.

Daniels and his wife April also frequently appeared on the WeTV reality television show Vince & Tamar.

It is always sad when we hear about the death of a musical talent, but it is absolutely tragic when it happens to someone so young. Our prayers are with April Daniels and their family.
