Jody Watley’s “Flower” released…finally

A decade after being inexplicably shelved prior to launch, Jody Watley’s Flower has finally been made available for the digital world via an mp3-only release.  The album, which found the always forward-looking Watley continuing to progress artistically, never saw the light of day and both began and ended a very short stay at Atlantic Records.  Perhaps it was a shock for corporate execs wanting a dance album from Watley. As Watley put it, "The direction for ‘Flower’ was decidely more adult and a progression of my work on ‘Intimacy’ and ‘Affairs of the Heart’."

The disc features a who’s who of collaborators, including Rahsaan Patterson, Masters at Work and D’Wayne Wiggins, among others.

Watley’s fans, many of whom have only heard the single "Off the Hook" and who have been waiting to listen to this album for years, will now get the chance.
