(September 14, 2021) Good Morning America announced today that legendary singer Janet Jackson will be issuing a brand new album next year and will be collaborating with a star-studded lineup of musical legends – including her longtime hitmaking collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who partnered with Jackson on her most iconic albums. The first single from the album is due yet this year.
The album will also include work with Earth, Wind & Fire and Siedah Garrett. It will be Miss Janet’s first album since the charttopping 2015 release, Unbreakable.
Also today, Jackson issued a teaser video for her upcoming documentary, Janet, which will be shown on the Lifetime Channel at a to-be-determined date.
The younger sister of the famous Jackson brothers, Janet paved her own way to become arguably the family’s biggest star. Working with hit producers Jam and Lewis over a 20+ year period, she has scored influential hit after hit. Her keen sense of the market along with her nifty dancing and natural beauty have made her one of the most popular artists of the past two decades.
We can’t wait to hear new music from Janet Jackson, and see the full documentary. More to come!
