It’s been awhile since we’ve heard an album’s worth of new music from India Arie – too long, in fact. But our Southern Girl, who has the song “Cocoa Butter” riding up the charts, has announced that she’ll be releasing a new album titled SongVersation June 25 on Soulbird/ Motown Records. The album, which was originally to be titled Open Door, is Arie’s first since 2009’s Testimony: Vol. 2.
On SongVersation, Arie will be working with talented songwriter and producer Shannon Sanders, along wiht David Ryan Harris and Michael Ruff. This will be a welcome return of a talented performer.
