An innovative gathering for soul industry professionals will focus on "WHERE SOUL MEETS THE BIZ"
New York, NY- Neo Soul Café LLC announces plans for the 2008 I Got Soul Conference and Tribute (IGSC). The conference dates are June 13-15 and will be held in Dallas, TX. This year’s theme is "Where Soul Meets the Biz"
IGSC, known as the pipeline for soul music, has a creative environment where established industry professionals, up and coming artists can meet to network, experience groundbreaking panels, technology workshops and unique entertainment events. IGSC 2008 expects over 1000 attendees for this 3 day event.
The IGSC Tribute was created to recognize legends and trailblazers of soul music. 2007 honoree was Stevie Wonder and hosted by Universal/Motown recording artist Erykah Badu. The 2008 honorees will be announced in April 2008.
"I Got Soul Conference" is about connecting the music to the business. DJ Frances Jaye and business partner Velisa Crayton-Walker who run the multi-media company Neo Soul Café created IGSC as a platform to support soul music. This year they also decided to take IGSC to the next level by working with other women who are creating opportunities for the soul community. The team consists of Jodine Dorce of Jodine’s Corner, Asya Shein and Nina Morena of Fusicology.com, Fiona Bloom of The Bloom Effect, Carmen Rodgers and Talibah Wortham of Candigirl Music and Valerie Pratt of Ol’Soul Productions.
IGSC, Founded by Frances Jaye and Velisa Walker-Crayton is a property of Neo Soul Café LLC., a Dallas-based multi-media company.
