David Ruffin was ranked by Billboard Magazine as one of the world’s greatest singers of all time. As principal lead singer of The Temptations he left an indelible mark on songs like “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” and “I Wish It Would Rain.” Along with the group he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. He was later inducted into the Mississippi Hall of Fame. In 2013 he and fellow Temptations received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement award. Ruffin was also inducted into the newly-established Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame with The Temptations, and individually as a solo artist.
In celebration of the 50th year since the release of “My Girl” in December 1964, the family is planning a “My Girl” Day Celebration in the City of Detroit.
The new website will have a Facebook link for the petition drive to have Ruffin inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.
