The Commodores, fresh off their Lifetime Achievement Award at last year’s SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards, just returned from Monaco, where they performed at the annual “Bal De La Rosa” at the request of the Royal Family Prince Albert and Princess Caroline of Monaco.
Even a bigger deal to SoulTrackers is that next month current group members Walter Orange, J.D. Nicholas and William King will be reuniting with the Commodores’ original producer James Carmichael as well as original guitarist Thomas McCleary and bassist Ronald Lapread to record the group’s first album of new material in 18 years. We’re looking forward to hearing the first results of this reunion and will keep you posted!
