Introducing CHOPS The Band

The highly regarded CHOPS HORNS forms the 10 piece ensemble- CHOPS THE BAND

Formed by Darryl Dixon on Alto Sax and Dave Watson – Tenor, Baritone Sax and Flute- "Chops Horns?" are usually in the background of musical stars–
adding dynamism to the studio or stage performances that we music lovers
often take for granted. Once you hear them live, you won't forget them.

Currently, CHOPS HORNS skills have been spotted on Mariah Carey's new album "the Emancipation of Mimi" and "The Diary of Alicia Keys" (CD & tours). Now it's their turn. Chops Horns has put together a phenomenal line up of seasoned musicians- a powerhouse ensemble who collectively are called "Chops The Band"–

"Chops The Band" is sensual, appetizing and satisfying. What is more stimulating than smokin' saxes and a full horn section. The featured vocalist is the delectable "Ambrosia" (nectar of the gods). She's a sultry r&b/club soulstress who can pen romantic lyrics. "Ambrosia" has a broad vocal range and a deep penetrating style which will give you chills and leave you mesmerized.

Ambrosia-Lead Vocals
Ambrosia is a consummate professional who tears up a room whenever she performs. She has unlimited versatility and can cross the lines from Sarah Vaughn to Chaka Khan. She has performed with such artists as Ashford & Simpson, Keith Sweat, and Queen Latifah.

Jerard "Mr. Pocket" Snell-Drums
Jerard has the unique ability to transform himself and his playing to adapt to whatever is going on around him, be it jazz, R&B, Latin, funk, or anything in between. He has performed with Jennifer Holliday, Glenn Jones, Alison Williams, Dorothy Norwood, and Little Louis Vega and the Elements of Life Ensemble.

Mike "Moon" Reuben-Guitar and Vocals
Moon is a phenomenal guitarist who is also a gifted songwriter. His contributions to the band are enormous and make up an integral part of the Chops band sound. He has worked with artists such as Bernie Worrell and the Woo Warriors, Queen Latifah, George Clinton, Stanley Jordan, Kidd Capri, Me'shell Ndegeocello, and Salt & Peppa.

Kevin "K.P." Parlor-Bass
Kevin brings a whole different dimension to the Chops Band sound because of his diversity and versatility. He has performed with the likes of Ben Vereen, Terence Trent Darby, Oleta Adams, Mtume, and Sistah Souljah, among others.

Zen Zadravec-Keyboards
Zen has few equals. His playing is reminiscent of Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. He has just the right touch and sound for whatever is happening on stage and studio. He has graced the stage with such notable musicians as Steve Turre, Kenny Davis, Valary Ponomarev, Ralph Bowen, and Charles Fambrough, among others.

"Bujo" Kevin Jones – Congas, Djembe, Percussion
Kevin is a talented veteran of the Jazz and R&B scene who has numerous performance and recording credits. This exciting percussionist has worked with Charles McPherson, Archie Shepp, The Isley Brothers, Whitney Houston, Joey DeFrancesco, Mario Rivera, John Benitez, Hilton Ruiz and Winard Harper. This young man brings raw tribal "energy of the drum" to the Chops Band!
