(September 3, 2020) With his latest single, “One I Got,” hitting #1 on Billboard magazine’s Adult R&B Songs chart, Charlie Wilson becomes the all-time leader among male artists.

“One I Got” is Wilson’s 8th charttopper, putting him behind only Alicia Keys (11) and Toni Braxton (9) on the 27 year old chart. The Adult R&B Songs chart began as a spinoff from the magazine’s R&B chart in 1993, to recognize the emergence of Urban Adult Contemporary radio and its divergence from the more hip-hop oriented urban radio format.

Just behind Wilson on the list, with seven each, are Maxwell (at least until Maxwell releases his long awaited BlackSummersNIGHT album) and R. Kelly (who is probably done making #1s).
