(December 15, 2021) They were one of the biggest acts in the world during the 90s, and now, according to Vibe, Boyz II Men will be honored with Brotherly, a new “coming of age musical,” with filmmaker Malcolm D. Lee at the helm.
Thirty years after BIIM first topped the charts with “MotownPhilly,” the remaining trio of Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman will serve as executive producers of the film, which focuses on a group of men who return to West Philadelphia for their 20th anniversary high school reunion. Expect lots of familiar Boyz II Men songs to be included in the film, which is still in the pre-production stage.
It seems to us there is also room for a straight up biography of this group, which overcame odds to become one of the greatest vocal acts of their generation. Do you agree?
