Bobby Brown to return in June with “Masterpiece”

Bobby Brown, known for his years with New Edition, for a briefly shining solo career and for his long and tumultuous marriage to Whitney Houston, is slated to release his first solo album in 14 years. The Masterpiece will be issued on June 5th. The first single is titled “Don’t Let Me Die,” a title that Brown says was chosen before Houston’s February death.

Brown will be doing a media blitz before the release, appearing on Ellen, Wendy Williams and Leno in May. Says Brown of The Masterpiece, “I simply wanted to create a body of work that will take listeners on a musical journey; the style of music that will allow people to get in touch with their highs and lows and their joys and pain of living through song. At the same time, I am hoping to bridge the gap between good old R&B and R&B of today.”

What do you think about it? Are you looking forward to new music from Bobby?
