SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award winner Avery Sunshine can certainly sing. If the fans at last weekend’s NCAA Final Four in Atlanta didn’t know that before she performed the national anthem last weekend….well, they sure knew afterwards.
Check out her performance below. Avery is currently finishing up her sophomore project The Sun Room, due for release later this year. She’s working on the disc with Musiq Soulchild and DJ Jazzy Jeff among others. She’ll also be touring the US, including a stop at the Essence Festival in New Orleans on July 6th and the Rhythm and Blues Festival in Brooklyn, New York on July 3rd. Great job, Avery!
