We’ve been tracking singer and keyboardist Wade C. Long for a few years now, and he has continued to emerge as a star, with multiple SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards nominations.
With his newest release, Wade gives us double the musical pleasure. “Have You Ever Been Loved” is a romantic query about the feelings that come with true love. And just as love expresses itself in multiple ways, Wade expresses the song in two different formats: The first is a contemporary adult soul version that builds to a lover’s crescendo with keyboards, guitar and background vocals. And then there is a softer acoustic “Piano Lovers” take, with a touch of gospel led by a simple piano and Wade’s powerful voice.
