If you’ve been a SoulTracker for awhile, you’ve received a steady diet of the Pride of Indiana, smooth soul and jazz man Ty Causey. Straddling the line between the two genres, Ty has been a consistent force on the independent music circuit, and a regular source of musical joy for all of us at SoulTracks.
Ty is getting ready to release a new album, and he has an advance song that features another longtime ST fave, Monet, onboard. “U-Turn” is a cool midtempo that tells the story of a man who is…just so “over it” with an old love (“The future looks bright for me / as far as I can see”).
Ty tells us in his message to his SoulTracks fans: “I’m excited about sharing the title track from my upcoming album called ‘U-Turn.’ It’s a smooth soulful R&B flow with a touch of Smooth Jazz featuring Monet Cherise on flute. Please take a moment to ‘like’ or leave a comment. Your feedback is very much appreciated. I plan to release the full album this summer and I hope you will continue to support my music with the love, kindness, and encouragement that you have shown me through the years. I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you hear the variety of songs I have on the full album. So stay tuned and as always thank you for your support.’
If the single “U-Turn” is any indication, this is an album that is going to be on repeat on our players. We’re proud to present “U-Turn” as our Song of the Month for June. Check it out below and tell us what you think!
