Song of the Month: Kenya is the “Wednesday Girl” every day

kenya

We’ve been following smooth soul singer Kenya for a few years now.  We first introduced SoulTrackers to her when she released her very nice remake of Michael Jackson’s “I Can’t Help It,” and then took it up a notch with her excellent collaboration with Kloud 9 on “Be Here.”

Well, next Spring Kenya will be releasing the album, My Own Skin, and we can’t wait! So we’re very pleased to be featuring this talented singer this month with a sneak peek of what you can look forward to with the upcoming album.  Kenya’s new single, “Wednesday Girl,” has a killer groove and strong jazz underpinnings — and it just keeps getting better the further you get into the song. Says Kenya: “When I wrote “Wednesday Girl” I wanted the listener to feel like they are traveling through a sublime music journey…it provokes many moods which is similar to experiencing lost or limited love.”

It’s a classy and clever song, and it’s also our newest SoulTracks Song of the Month. Check out “Wednesday Girl” and then tell us what you think!
