We’ve been following R&B/jazz flutist Jef Kearns for a few years now. His fresh, funky take on an instrument that isn’t always either of those things has made us a fan. He has single-handedly turned the flute into a legitimate soulful instrument, and has deservedly gotten big time attention in the process.
Jef’s album Soulfisticated (see our review) hit #1 on the Soul Jazz charts on Amazon.com, and it continues to bring in new fans.
Jef has just released the final single from that album. “Through The Rain.” It’s a great song with a cool groove, as Jef trades time with singer Aria Zenua in a song produced by Timian. Jef tells us: “‘Through the Rain’ is a song about becoming the positive force you want to see in the world.”
