It was an appreciation for music and the talents of husband and wife team Christopher and Georgette Whaley that gave life to SOBO Magazine. An acronym for "Soulful Bohemian." this print publication was created to give exposure to independent artists who often go unnoticed by mainstream media. Each SOBO has a different theme with such issues as "Rock Goddess" (featuring an exclusive interview with Nona Hendryx), "Global Grooves" (with Eric Roberson, Methodology and Jeff Sheppard), "A Salute to Soul Brothers" (with Omar, Frank McComb and Tim Dillinger), and "The Real History of Hip-Hop" (with pioneers Sha Rock, Melle Mell and Grandmaster Caz). Since it's inception in May of 2006, SOBO has grown on a daily basis, with readership and subscribers in the UK, Holland, Australia, Canada, Japan, New York, Chicago, Detroit and Los Angeles. SOBO Magazine has become not just an avenue of expression but a movement that will continue to bring quality journalism for many years to come. SOBO Magazine has been featured on 4DaSoul.com and has a weekly feature "The SOBO Segment" on "Out the Box with Tim Dillinger" which airs on JazzSyndicate.co.uk.
