“Back It Up For Love” is pure Southern Soul, blending classic Soul/R&B with a hint of Country. A feel-good song for the line dance community.
The single comes fresh off the success of his previous single “Throwback,” which spent 9 weeks on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, peaking at #24 earlier this month. It was Shazam’s fourth solo single to hit the Billboard charts since he started pursuing a solo career in 2023. “Strokey Doke” reached #27 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, “Pac Man” reached #4 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart and #29 on the Adult Contemporary chart, and “Weekend” with Bobby V spent 20 weeks on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart peaking at #21.
Shazam Conner is the lead singer and founding member of H-Town, the R&B group who achieved global success with their 1993 platinum hit single “Knockin’ da Boots”.
