Dr. Norman Hutchins has established himself on the gospel music scene as one with the gift to give life to songs borne out of circumstances that all can relate to. With past hits and personal favorites such as "Battlefield" and "God's Got a Blessing," there was certainly hope that Where I Long To Be would possess new tunes that would quickly be added to that group of cherished melodies. There was definitely no disappointment on that end!
Dr. Hutchins has a phenomenal testimony, one built on faith and healing. For those who do not know his story, after being diagnosed with detached retinas and a surgical procedure, Dr. Hutchins endured a three-month period of total blindness. While in darkness, he allowed the Holy Spirit to work through him in the form of song. That song, "All Things Work Together," is a beautiful song about triumph over uncertainty.
This album is comprised of praise and worship songs as well as heartfelt faith-based songs that involuntarily cause your hands to go up in a surrender and tribute only to God's mercy. "Everything Will Be Alright" is a feel good song that takes you back to a Sunday morning with a jumping choir that instantly sets the congregation on fire! " I Really Love You" simply speaks to one's devotion to the Lord with an upbeat melody and "A Move of God is on the Way" confirms that brighter days lay ahead for those that stand firm in their belief of God's blessings.
With the testimony detailed by Dr. Hutchins himself, there is no reason for anyone to doubt that this tremendous ministry through song can be anything less than a blessing. Where I Long To Be is highly recommended.
