Feels Good (2005)

Take_6_-_Feels_Good.jpg

After nearly twenty years as part of the Warner Brothers family, creating their own label was a big move for the members of Take 6.  But on their initial independent release, Feels Good, the group sounds absolutely energized.  Opening with the joyous "Come On," the disc runs through a collection of mostly original material that is Take 6's strongest set in a decade and a half.  Their harmonies are perfect as usual, and the rut that the group hit in the late 90s is nowhere to be found on Feels Good.  The difference here is particularly strong group songwriting and outside song selection.  Material like "This Is Another Day," "Family of Love," "Lamb of God" and the title cut make this an outstanding disc front-to-back.  Feels Good brings the same kind of smile that "Spread Love" brought 18 years ago, and is a welcome return of an immensely talented group. Highly recommended.
