While his most obvious influences appear to be 70s singer/songwriters like J.D. Souther and Stephen Bishop, Amos Lee's soulful voice and interesting arrangements (including nice use of the Hammond B3 and Norah Jones on Wurlitzer) make this an interesting adult contemporary album that could win a soul audience. Lee is a good singer and songwriter whose laid back, organic sound will likely appeal to the folks who bought Jones' debut album two years ago. Good nighttime listening.
